Steve Jobs Today Unveiled The iPhone 4 At WWDC 2010

Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs has finally confirmed the availability of the new iPhone 4 at WWDC 2010 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Similar to the leaked prototype, the iPhone 4 features a new design with both a glass front and back, and stainless steel edging, which also functions as part of the antenna. Measuring at just 9.3mm thick, the new iPhone 4 is 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS. The phone has a 960 x 640 resolution display or also known as a high-resolution “Retina display”. This new display screen offers a 326-pixel-per-inch density, which is “more than limit of the human retina”. The new iPhone is powered by Apple’s own A4 power-efficient processor, which should give the new phone a speed boost over the 3GS and a longer battery life. Its 5-megapixel digital camera with an LED flash on the back is able to record 720p HD videos at 30fps, while a front-facing camera is perfect for video calls.

What’s more, the new iPhone 4 uses the iPhone OS 4 or also known as the ‘iOS 4″. The new operating system provides more than 100 new features and allows you to access the Apple iBook store, and share your books between your iPhone, iPad and iPod. Additional specs include an accelerometer, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11n), GPS navigation with compass, a 32GB max storage, UMTS/GSM and Quad-band HSDPA/HSUPA (7.2Mbps down/5.8Mbps up).

Available in white or black, the new iPhone 4 will be released on June 24, 2010. The 16GB model retails for $199, while the 32GB model is priced at $299. You should be able to order the iPhone 4 over at the Apple Store starting on June 15th, 2010. Read the press release after the jump. Read more…
