Sprint Introduces Samsung Restore Eco-friendly Messaging Phone

Sprint has introduced the Samsung Restore messaging phone that follows the Samsung Reclaim as the company’s second eco-friendly messaging phone. Designed for environmentally conscious customers, the Samsung Restore’s casing is made of post consumer recycled plastic and 84 percent of the phone is recyclable. Available in Midnight and Limeade, the Restore features a slide-out, full QWERTY keyboard with optical joystick, a 2MP camera with a video recording capability, an MP3 player with a microSD card slot (supports up to 32GB), Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology, Sprint Family Locator, Sprint Football Live, Sprint Navigation and Sprint TV. Sprint will release the Samsung Restore this summer for as low as $50 with a contract after a $50 rebate. [Sprint]

Sharp SH6230 Solar Hybrid

Sharp Corporation has officially confirmed the availability of the Sharp SH6230 Solar Hybrid phone for the Chinese market. The handset features a 2.9-inch LCD screen and a 5-megapixel Auto Focus camera. Unfortunately, there is no further info about the specs of this eco-friendly phone. Stay tuned for more updates. Two New Handsets From Sony Ericsson GreenHeart Series

Sony Ericsson Hazel Cell Phones

Sony Ericsson has unveiled two new member from its GreenHeart phone series. Dubbed as the Sony Ericsson Elm and Sony Ericsson Hazel, these cell phones are previously known as Susan and Sunny. Both handsets are made out of recycled plastics, free from hazardous chemicals and come with E-manuals. The Hazel and Elm also feature a Walk Mate eco application, a green calculator and a low power consumption charger (called EP300 GreenHeart).

The Sony Ericsson Elm is a candybar with a curved case, which features a 2.2-inch QVGA display, HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google Maps, “10 days free weather forecast with Accuweather”, “clear voice and intelligent volume adaptation”, social networking integration (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter), push email, a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash, a 280MB of internal memory, and a MicroSD card support. The Elm will be available starting the first quarter of 2010 in two Metal Black and Pearly Rose. Meanwhile, the Sony Ericsson Hazel is a slider handset with a 2.6-inch QVGA display. The phone will be available from Q2 2010 in Superior Black and Passionate Rouge.

Both the Elm and Hazel are splash resistant and are offered together with the Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-60J (also part of the GreenHeart family of products). In addition, Sony Ericsson also announced the Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700, which features Intelligent Voice adaptation and will be available starting the second quarter of 2010. Read more…
